University of Divinity Legalities

Legalities for Ministry, Counseling, Healing and Teaching

Ministerial Status Maintenance and Business legitimacy

First Amendment of the United States of America

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

To enter into a business established through spiritual education, certain legalities must be adhered to in order to support the viable practice of spiritual philosophies and honor the First Amendment of the United States of America.

SPICA - Way of Light University of Divinity is a non-secular educational institution that is owned, controlled, operated and maintained by an authentic church with a religious denomination of New Thought - Transpersonal Approach(SM), Divine Feminine philosophy. We are lawfully operating as a nonprofit religious corporation via the State of California Nonprofit Corporation laws and the requirements of the Federal Government under IRS regulations.  We provide diplomas and degrees limited to evidence of completion of our educational programs, and the meritorious recognition upon which any honorary degree is conferred, is limited to evidence to the principles of SPICA - Way of Light.  We only offer degrees and diplomas in the beliefs and practices of our spiritual philosophy.

Ministerial Status Maintenance and Business legitimacy

It is to be known by all students that the practice of ministry, healing, counseling and teaching must be reflected by the SPICA - Way of Light philosophy and their association with the Church as established via an ongoing ministerial status. Once ordained, the students are given the legal right to practice in the field within the degrees established through ministerial studies.  However, at a minimum, the ordained minister must maintain her or his alignment with SPICA - Way of Light by presenting Monthly Reports of the services provided in the community, and pay association fees of $100.00 per year. These reports and the status of the ministers ministry are kept on file for all legal purposes.   They provide evidence to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the State of California of the ministers association with SPICA - Way of Light.    Each report demonstrates that the minister is actively practicing and continues to carry a reputable alliance to the religious educational organization that provided the ministerial status.  If reports are discontinued and annual fees not paid, the individual will no longer be considered a minister and loose the umbrella of legal status with SPICA - Way of Light.

As a student establishing yourself in a profession of spiritual philosophies, I know you present a high level of integrity and desire to enter your field of work with all others knowing of this moral soundness you bare.  Your accomplishments achieved through the studies in this school will provide you with a legitimate spiritual background that can be reviewed by anyone.   You can be proud of your work and the service you will provide to your community.
